Packaging and Palletizing
Packaging and palletizing, whether in the context of plastic molding or otherwise, continues to be a large part of dds’s business. Packaging typically entails accepting product from an input source, collating, counting, reorienting and finally placing into a receptacle. The receptacle may be a dds supplied box loader or a third-party bagging or wrapping machine.
Our palletizing systems utilize custom gantry robots to build pallets from the bottom up. These robots manage the task of product placement, as well as the placing of slip sheets and top caps as required.
dds was recently contracted to develop a custom module to rotate bags as they progressed along on a conveyor while being transported to an existing palletizing line. The successful result was our Bag Rotator – a simple servo-driven manipulator that can rotate 40kg bags up to 180 degrees in either direction at a rate of 30 bags per minute.
From press mounted stacking systems to standalone palletizers, chances are we have the knowledge to handle your packaging problems.
